Abby Moore

Abby Moore is the Outreach Program Manager at the MWMO.  She oversees professional development and training programs and manages interpretive programming and exhibits at the MWMO’s Stormwater Park and Learning Center. Abby is particularly interested in developing programs that connect people with the Mississippi River and foster sustainable behavior across the watershed and beyond. She holds a B.A in Geology from Colorado College, a Graduate Certificate in Environmental Education from the University of Minnesota Duluth, and an M.A. in Teaching and Teacher Education and Environmental Learning from the University of Arizona.

Adam Flett

Adam Flett seeks opportunities to work with the community around water and habitat protection and stewardship. By recognizing, engaging and supporting partners working towards improving the environment through outreach and projects, his work helps build community-level and action-based approaches to improve the watershed. He has over a decade of experience in river-related stewardship in the Twin Cities area, and is well-versed in habitat restoration for biodiversity. He holds a B.S. in Environmental Science, Policy and Management and a Minor in Forest Resources from the University of Minnesota.

Mary Yang

Mary Yang is the Community Outreach Specialist at the MWMO. She manages the Mississippi River Green Team in professional youth development and career opportunities throughout the school year, and engages in environmental education through the summer. As a former Green Team member, Mary hopes to be a part of and help the Green Teamers pursue their careers. She received her bachelor’s degree in urban studies with double minors in environmental studies and sociology.

Akadia Johnson

Akadia is the Administrative and Operations Specialist at MWMO. They manage the MWMO facility’s day-to-day operations, organize various administrative projects, and help coordinate internal communications for the MWMO. They have a Bachelor of Arts in Communications with a specialization in Media Production and a minor in Technical Writing from the University of Minnesota and have developed several years of public and nonprofit communications experience in their previous work with the University of Minnesota, Minneapolis Public Schools, and Twin Cities Geek Magazine.
